Typical Day
Like most, Mountain Ridge Helicopters' students begin their day by heading to campus in the morning. Dress code is casual; t-shirts and shorts are the norm in the summer. Roughly two hours is spent on the ground receiving instruction. These are not boring lectures in a room full of 200 of your uninterested peers. Lessons are presented to very small groups, and in many cases one-on-one. These training sessions are meant to be interactive. Ask questions if you don’t understand because the “test” comes next.
Following classroom instruction, you’ll get into a helicopter–probably a Robinson 22–with your instructor. Here you will put into practice the principles you just learned. Your education has a VERY direct application.
After your flight you are encouraged to stay on campus to study and receive tutoring. Pack a lunch, throw it in the fridge and plan to hang out as long as you want. Remember, as a flight student there are no semesters. You determine the pace at which you want to complete your program.
Campus Tour
During your visit to Mountain Ridge Helicopters you’ll walk through the campus and learn about all the resources available to you as a student. You’ll also get a quick overview of ways to pay for tuition. If everything seems like a good fit, the next step is to schedule a meeting where we will go over financing, medical requirements, and career options.
Housing
Compared to other places across the nation, Cache Valley is a relatively inexpensive place to live. Mountain Ridge Helicopters is located in Logan, home to Utah State University. Sharing a town with the college means more housing options are available to you. To see what options are available, visit TrueAggie.com
